Permanent Visas Through Employment: Members of the Professions Holding Advanced Degrees
This subcategory is reserved for professionals with an advanced degree. The position must require a person with an advanced degree to discharge the position’s duties and the person must possess an advanced degree.
An advanced degree is defined as a master’s degree (or higher) or its equivalent. The equivalent of a master’s degree is generally defined as a bachelor’s degree plus at least five years of progressively more responsible experience in the profession. If the individual possess a foreign advanced degree, the degree must be equivalent to a U.S. advanced degree. If a position normally requires a doctorate degree, the person must possess a doctorate degree to qualify for the EB-2 category.
